I have just created a webcam that runs on Ubuntu 9.04, using a cheap IBM PC Camera (Model 2) that I bought at a thrift store a few years ago. Since my friend Craig Kinzer had donated several computers to me, I decided to put one to good use. The instructions for setting up this webcam can be downloaded in MS-Word format or in PDF format.

A new version of F-PROT was released on 11/26/99. This program is available from the F-PROT Anti-Virus Home Page. This latest DOS shareware version of F-PROT detects and removes all viruses (even Word and Excel Macro virii), features an updated interface, and includes the Windows based F-MACROW scanner program.

The following are Macro detection/removal tools for Windows and Macintosh users:

For Microsoft Word for Windows users, download, and run MVTOOL40.EXE. For Microsoft Word for Macintosh users, download the MW1222.HQX file. Make sure you open SCANPROT.DOT from Microsoft Word; this file will install protection macros, and give you the option to scan your Microsoft Word files for macro viruses.
