My faith

I believe in a God of love, who created this world and gave His only Son to die so His people could have eternal life. I know that human suffering reflects our separation from God, but is NOT God's punishment for our wrongful and sinful acts. There is nothing a criminal of the worst possible kind could do, to get her/himself thrown into hell by God, because God has decided that all sinners should be saved. Conversely, there is no single good thing I could possible do to deserve God's love and forgiveness, but for some wonderful and lovingly mysterious reason, God loves and forgives me anyways.

The greatest thing about God is that despite our sinful nature, He has chosen you and me. Many have looked and searched for God, but God took the initiative, and has given us the gift of His love. As His friends, we have been given the freedom to elect God's love, or continue in sin. We have also received the freedom to wrestle, question and doubt God's actions, so we have a dynamic relationship with God. I look forward to living in eternity with the God I love, and others who have elected God's love.

This is not a final and complete statement of my beliefs. However, you may treat this as a preliminary statement from which we can share our thinking and exchange ideas about God.
