Enoch Hwang Ph.D.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, University of California, Riverside. 1999.
  • M.S. in Computer Science, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver. 1985.
  • B.Sc. Honours in Computer Science, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. 1982.

Principal Research Interests

My main research area is in the design of microprocessor and microcontroller circuits, how to optimize them for power consumption, speed, resource usage and size reduction, and the application of these controller circuits in embedded systems. I am also interested in developing mobile apps, the human-computer interface, and how best to use these mobile devices.  In March of 2015, I was invited as a visiting professor to Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China for four months to teach their microprocessor design course using my Digital Logic and Microprocessor Design textbook. The course was taught in English with 40 enthusiastic and eager-to-learn students.

Academic Interests/Research Area:

  • Embedded microprocessor and microcontroller design
  • Hardware/software co-design
  • Digital logic circuit design
  • Robotics and automation
  • Mobile computing
  • Computer architecture
  • Internet of Things
